Run BTS LYRICS

The title of the song is '달려라방탄' in Korean which literally means 'Run Bulletproof'. As 'BTS' stands for '방탄소년단' (pron. Bangtan Sonyeondan) meaning 'Bulletproof Boys', the word 'bulletproof' is used in the chorus.

Run BTS is also BTS's very own variety show as well.

NOTES

1. BTS used to live at Nonhyung-dong until they moved later on (referenced in Moving On as well).

2. 깡소주 (pron. kkang-soju) is when one drinks soju without any snacks.

3. 뒤졌어 is slang for 'dead' similar to 'done for', 'drop dead', etc in English. The usage in Korean sounds harsher than it sounds than in the English translation.

4. 새빠지게 is a variation of 쎄빠지게 used for phrases like '쎄빠지게 일했다' (I worked like crazy/I worked my a** off).

The word 쎄빠지게 (쎄 → tongue; 빠지다 → to fall off) is used when one expresses that something was so hard that their tongue was about to fall off.

5. '뛰는 놈 위에 나는 놈 있다' is an idiom that literally means 'There's a person who runs, then there's a person who flies above them'. It implies that there is always someone better out there no matter what you do.

6. Reference to a famous quote from the Korean movie Marathon: '초원이 다리는? 백만불짜리 다리!' which means 'Chowon's legs are? Million-dollar legs!'

 

The movie is about an autistic boy who finds his happiness and passion in running. Since he finds a talent for running, his mother aims for Chowon to participate in a marathon which can be physically toll-taking on him.

The reference is also made in the song 뱁새 (Baepsae) or Silver Spoon.
